With any fence the frame and posts are what makes your fence, for fences up to 4’ high we recommend a minimum of 75mm posts for fences over 4’ high would recommend 100mm posts.
On 6’ high fences we recommend 125mm square posts this provides a good solid post to hold your new fence reducing risks of snapping and creates a good anchor.
When it comes to your frame we would recommend on fences up to 4’ using no less than 2 rails, then 4’ or higher using a minimum of 3 rails..

Hit and Miss Fencing is probably the most popular sort of fence.
Can be single sided or double sided for privacy .
Advantage with Hit and Miss is the wind can flow through the gaps .
Standard Gap between Boards is 38mm on double sided or 18mm on single sided we don’t recommend going with a wider gap than this as it becomes very easy to see through.
Standard sizes are 0.9M (3FT), 1.2M (4FT), 1.5M (5FT) or 1.8M (6FT) .
Can come in green or brown and usually finished with a chamfered capping rail but not always.

Overlap is by far the best fencing for privacy as you cant see through it. However, the downside of having a fence like this is that it does not allow the wind to flow through– if you are prone to high gusts of wind on that side of your property it is not recommended.
Recommended when 1.8m high to use 125mm posts and 4 rails. This is because the fence needs extra strength because the wind cannot flow through.
Can come in either green or brown and in sizes 0.9M (3FT), 1.2M (4FT), 1.5M (5FT) or 1.8M (6FT)
It is usually finished with a chamfered rail on top to give it a sleek finish.
Overlap slat is a 150mm wide slat either 12mm or 18mm thick where a feathered edge slat is a 100mm slat which is 12mm at one edge and 18mm thick at the other side.

Ranch fencing is a slightly cheaper fence but it is not as strong as the boards go straight onto the posts.
It can be double sided for privacy or single sided and finished in various heights.
Down side to this type of fence is it can be easily climbed by people or animals.
